Predisaster and the loss of dex

I went to pull my dexcom out of my pocket today when sitting down to watch the news and he wasn't there.  Talk about a minute of panic.  I have rules about where I can leave the clip to my pump so I don't lose it.  I have had to run around the house looking for it because I had set it down somewhere I shouldn't have.  I try to apply the same principle to dex only on a wider scale since he roams the whole house with me.  I should have him secured in a pouch or in my SPI belt but sometimes I just don't feel like wearing my utility belt.  Anyways I started looking from room to room and went into the laundry room and the panic increased.  Having hit all the main rooms in the house and knowing it wasn't there the laundry seemed right.  When I'm in there I set it on the right side of the dryer in a basket.  Far away from the washer.  I know dex can't swim and I do my best to see he has safety containers in rooms near water.  When It wasn't in the basket I opened the washer and started pulling out wet clothes.  What a mess but thank goodness no dex.  Off to search the rest of the house.  I found it on a shelf near a light switch in my husbands den.  I must have gone in there to see what the cats were doing and set it down.
I am hoping that with this first loss of dex that I can say I am predisastered.  Now I won't lose it while out in public.
